Josiah Montgomery is an artist working in drawing and photography. He is interested in documenting the evidence of human interaction with the landscape. His work focuses on a deadpan commentary of the subject matter while leaving an opening for interpretation. Montgomery was born in July 2004 in central Ohio, where he resides today. He is currently studying to receive his BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University. Heavily influenced by the new topographics as well as his time spent in the American Midwest, Montgomery has developed a particular visual language to engage with documenting and portraying day-to-day life across different environments.
Montgomery is currently spending a semester abroad with the New York Arts Program where he is developing a more experimental body of work.
